Realizing the need to create scientific temper and cultivate the spirit of curiosity and innovation among young minds, the Government of India decided to set up a network of Atal Tinkering Laboratories throughout the country, where young minds can give shape to their ideas through a hands-on, do-it-yourself mode and learn innovation skills.
Under this initiative, DPS Amritsar was selected among 257 other schools nationwide to establish an ATAL Lab in the school. The school premises is now embellished with this lab, which gives students wings to their imaginations and the means to create new inventions.
